How Inventory Works
1. Access the "Inventory" Tab
Once your products are synced using matching identifiers, they will appear in the Inventory tab.
The Inventory tab is where you manage product synchronization between Shopify and Amazon. It contains three sub-tabs:
A. Linked Items
Matched Products : View products synced between Shopify and Amazon, along with their SKUs, barcodes, ASINs, and inventory levels.
- Update Quantities : Adjust the percentage of your product inventory sent to Amazon. By default, the Amazon Easy Sync App sends 100% of your Shopify inventory to Amazon. To avoid overselling or to manage stock between your Shopify store and Amazon, you can decrease this percentage using the slider in the top right corner of the Inventory tab. For more details on syncing percentages and product quantities, refer to Guide 2: Inventory Management: Sync product quantities to Amazon .
-
Disable Sync for Specific Products : Select products to disable and click the Disable Selected Products button. Disabled products will be marked with a yellow label.
Note : While orders for disabled products will still be synced and imported through the app, their quantities will be kept separate and not synced.(If you would like to disable order importing, please contact support@toolecommerce.com )
The app displays the inventory available in Shopify for your selected location, which is sent to Amazon. Any updates made to stock in the Shopify admin panel will reflect in the app automatically.
B. Shopify Items
This tab allows you to view your Shopify inventory and product details directly within the app.
C. Amazon Items
In this tab, you can view your Amazon items and their details.
FBA Inventory Synchronization
FBA inventory synchronization is now available.
To enable FBA stock sync:
- Go to the Settings page in the app.
- Locate Location to sync FBA stock under Product Settings.
- Select the Shopify location where you want Amazon FBA quantities to be synchronized.
- Click Save.
(See screenshot below.)
Once enabled, the app will:
- Synchronize Amazon FBA product quantities to the selected Shopify location.
- Automatically update inventory after FBA orders are imported.
- Allow you to manage FBA stock directly within Shopify.
Important
FBA products must still be properly linked in the Linked Items tab for stock synchronization and order importing to function correctly.
For more information on order importing, please refer to the Order Import Guide.
Sync Stock From a Location Managed by Another App
We have also released a new feature that allows you to sync stock from a Shopify location managed by another app.
This is useful if:
- You use a third-party inventory management app
- You manage multi-location inventory
- Your stock is controlled outside of your primary Shopify location
How to Enable This Feature
- Go to Marketplace Settings.
- Locate the Location to sync FBM stock option.
- Select the Shopify location you want the app to use for inventory synchronization.
- Click Save.
Once selected:
- The app will use the chosen location to manage inventory when importing orders.
- FBM stock synchronization will pull quantities from that selected location.
-
Inventory will update according to the location managed by your external app.
Bundled Items in Imported Amazon Orders (Shopify Bundles)
If an Amazon order contains a bundled item that is mapped to a Shopify bundle product, the order will be imported into Shopify as separate individual items based on the bundle composition.
Here’s how it works:
- The bundle line item is split into its component products (for example: backpack + laptop sleeve).
- This ensures inventory is deducted correctly for each underlying product in Shopify.
- All other flows remain unchanged — fulfillment, cancellations, and standard order syncing continue to work as usual.
Note: This behavior applies only when the Amazon bundled item is mapped to a Shopify bundle product.
For more information on how orders are imported, please refer to the Order Import Guide.
