How do I enable “Location to sync FBA stock” and what should I expect?

Written by Juanita J

Question: How do I enable Location to sync FBA stock in ToolE (Amazon Easy Sync), and what happens after I turn it on?

Answer:Location to sync FBA stock lets you map a Shopify Location to represent your Amazon FBA inventory. Once enabled, ToolE will update that Shopify location’s inventory based on the stock Amazon reports it holds in its fulfillment centers.

Where to enable it (Global vs Marketplace-specific)

ToolE has Advanced Settings in two places:

A) Enable globally (applies to all marketplaces in a connection)

  1. Go to your Connection card

  2. Click the Settings tab

  3. Scroll to Sync settings

  4. Click Show advanced settings

  5. Find Location to sync FBA stock and select the Shopify Location you want to use for FBA

  6. Click Save

B) Enable per marketplace (overrides the global setting)

  1. Go to your Connection card

  2. Click the Marketplaces tab

  3. Find the marketplace (e.g., Amazon US / Amazon DE)

  4. Click the ⚙️ Settings button next to it

  5. In Sync settings – Marketplace, click Show advanced settings

  6. Set Location to sync FBA stock for that marketplace

  7. Click Save

Tip: If you want to go back to your global rules, use Reset in the marketplace override section.

What to expect after enabling it (how it behaves)

What ToolE will do

  • ToolE will treat the selected Shopify Location as your “Amazon FBA location.”

  • ToolE will update inventory in that location based on what Amazon says is currently available in their fulfillment centers.

What you should see in Shopify

  • You’ll see inventory quantities reflected at the specific Shopify Location you mapped (not necessarily your default/warehouse location).

  • This helps keep FBA stock separate from FBM/warehouse stock, which is important for accurate selling and reporting.

What it does not do

  • It does not move inventory between your Shopify locations automatically (it updates the mapped FBA location based on Amazon’s numbers).

  • It does not replace your FBM inventory rules—FBM and FBA are handled via separate location mappings.

Common setup recommendations (to avoid confusion)

Use two different Shopify Locations if you sell both FBM + FBA:

  • Location A: Warehouse / FBM

  • Location B: Amazon FBA

Then map:

  • Location to sync FBM stock → Warehouse / FBM location

  • Location to sync FBA stock → Amazon FBA location

This keeps stock sources clean and prevents “double counting.”

Troubleshooting quick checks

  • FBA stock looks unchanged in Shopify: Confirm you set the FBA location at the correct level (global vs marketplace override) and clicked Save.

  • Inventory appears in the wrong place: Make sure you’re viewing inventory for the mapped Shopify Location (not your default location).

  • You mapped the same location for FBM and FBA: This can cause confusing totals—use separate locations if you run both models.
