Why are FBA quantities not appearing in Shopify?

Written by Juanita J

Question: ToolE is connected, but I don’t see any FBA stock quantities in Shopify. What should I check?

Answer: In most cases, FBA quantities aren’t showing in Shopify because the FBA inventory isn’t mapped to a Shopify Location, you’re viewing the wrong Shopify Location, or your marketplace-specific settings are overriding the global setup. ToolE only updates FBA stock into Shopify when “Location to sync FBA stock” is enabled and mapped correctly.

Quick checks (most common causes)

1) “Location to sync FBA stock” isn’t enabled or isn’t set

ToolE needs a Shopify Location to write FBA inventory into.

  • What to do:

    • Go to your Connection → Settings → Show advanced settings

    • Set Location to sync FBA stock to a Shopify Location (e.g., “Amazon FBA”)

    • Click Save

2) A marketplace override is overriding your global settings

Even if your global connection settings are correct, a marketplace can override them.

  • What to do:

    • Go to Connection → Marketplaces

    • Click ⚙️ Settings next to the marketplace you’re checking (e.g., Amazon DE)

    • Open Show advanced settings

    • Confirm Location to sync FBA stock is set (or click Reset to inherit the global settings)

    • Save

3) You’re checking inventory at the wrong Shopify Location

FBA quantities won’t necessarily show in your default location or your warehouse location—ToolE updates the specific mapped FBA location.

  • What to do: In Shopify, check the product/variant inventory by location and confirm you’re viewing the location you mapped as FBA.

4) You don’t have a dedicated “Amazon FBA” Shopify location (recommended)

If you use the same location for FBM and FBA, it can look like FBA stock is missing (or it can be blended in a confusing way).

  • What to do: Create/choose a dedicated Shopify Location like “Amazon FBA”, then map it under Location to sync FBA stock.

5) You’re expecting FBM behavior from FBA syncing

FBM stock is typically pushed from Shopify → Amazon (using your warehouse/default location).

FBA stock is pulled from Amazon → Shopify (written into the mapped FBA location).

  • What to do: Confirm you’re expecting the right direction:

    • FBM: Shopify location available inventory → Amazon FBM stock

    • FBA: Amazon FC stock → Shopify FBA location inventory
