How do I ensure Shopify reports reflect Amazon orders correctly?

Written by Juanita J

Question: Shopify reports don’t match Amazon- what should we configure/check?

Answer: Reporting mismatches usually come from filtering/identification, refund handling, historical imports, and how bundles import.

Quick checks (Shopify reporting alignment)

Amazon orders aren’t clearly identifiable in Shopify

  • What to do: Use Custom order tags so Amazon orders can be filtered consistently in Shopify reports.

Order identifiers don’t match Amazon

  • What to do: Enable Use Amazon order ID as order name to make reconciliation and support easier.

Refunds processed on Amazon aren’t reflected in Shopify

  • Refunds done in Amazon Seller Central may not sync back into Shopify automatically.

  • What to do: If you need Shopify reporting to match, record/refund in the system/workflow that keeps both sides aligned (or mirror the refund in Shopify as needed).

Older Amazon orders are missing

  • ToolE auto-syncs new orders from the time the app is installed; older orders require manual import.

  • What to do: If historical orders are missing, run a manual import for the needed date range.

Bundles change how product-level sales look

  • Bundled items may import as separate component items in Shopify.

  • What to do: Expect Shopify product-level reports to reflect component items (not a single bundle SKU) depending on your mapping.
